The Month ICC
May 5–24, 2022 | Sofia, Bulgaria
The Month is a context proposed by the project-institution ICC (Imaginative Choreographic Center), organised by Garage Collective, and it contains many of the ongoing program lines that ICC runs since its opening. It is unfolding over three weeks in Sofia across several vibrant venues.
It takes place from 5th to 24th of October 2022 and it is curated with a total of 13 works/processes in 4 spaces in Sofia, Toplocentrala, Student House of Sofia University, and Dosa Gallery.
Alongside the public program, The Month hosts a closed RESEARCH project, fostering space for in-depth artistic exploration. The public is also invited to Lip Synk Situation, a special event inviting dance as a space for meeting of a pop and drag culture.
This project is realized with the financial support of the National Culture Fund of Bulgaria, the A/CE travel grant, and Toplocentrala, Sofia.

Ghost Choreography (a choreographic game) with Javier Cuevas invites you to play with presence, absence, and imagination. Guided by his brilliant approach, this session at 17:00 opens a space for ghostly movement, playful invention, and collective discovery.

THE RESEARCH Project
As part of The Month – ICC, Aleksadnar Georgiev, Zhana Pencheva, and Dario Barreto Damas (members of ICC, together with Michaela Dobreva and Boris Dalchev (SAPROMAT), are continuing their
collaborative project “RESEARCH”, initiated last year. This iteration delves deeper into the relationship between imagination, institution, and the artist, with a particular focus on the notion of space.
Lip Sync Situation
with Aleksandar Georgiev and Zhana Pencheva
Using as a foundation the principle of “realness”, we will engage physically and emotionally in what could be the best dance you have ever danced. Through collective support and reciprocal motivation, we will kick legs, spin, twist, run, folk dance, move our asses around, and maybe even sing along with Beyoncé.
Let´s sweat together!
The training is directed towards LGBTIQ+ community and drag scene of Bulgaria and open to all of you who have interest in dance, performance, and choreography (professional and non-professional).
Dates: 21st and 22nd October.
Time: 19:00 – 21:00 each day.
Space: 21st October at Doza Gallery and 22nd October at HOD, Sofia
